Two elderly residents safely escaped their blazing home in the Woodridge neighborhood on Friday afternoon, January 22nd.

Heavy fire was showing from the two story, detached frame dwelling at 3811 25th Place NE around 2pm. Flames were encountered on both the first and second floors, and into the attic.

Despite the severe fire conditions and a house still festooned with Christmas decorations, both inside and out, firefighters on the box and working fire dispatch were able to mount an aggresive interior attack in order to contain and extinguish the blaze in about 20 minutes.

There were no injuries to either civilians of DC FEMS personnel.
